Cialis 20 mg
Cialis 20 mg, also known as tadalafil, is an oral drug used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It belongs to a class of drugs known as Phosphodiesterase-5 Enzyme Inhibitors. Tadalafil’s effect on sexual ability may last up to 36 hours. It is also used to deal with the symptoms of an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH). In case of BPH, Cialis 20 mg can treat symptoms of urinary problems such as difficulty urinating or frequent urination. It can also be used by patients suffering from pulmonary arterial hypertension or PAH.
How does it work?
Cialis 20 mg works by increasing blood flow to the penis to help support an erection. It enhances the effects of a chemical that is released when the body is sexually aroused. It also relaxes the smooth muscle in the prostate and bladder. Using this combination of relaxing the smooth muscles and arteries in the penis along with increasing the blood flow, Cialis 20 mg helps sustain an erection.
In case of PAH, the pulmonary vascular lumen is decreased as a result of vascular remodeling. This leads to increased pulmonary artery pressure. Cialis 20 mg inhibits this vascular remodeling, thus lowering arterial pressure.
Recommended dosage of Cialis 20 mg
Cialis 20 mg should be taken once a day regardless of the condition that the patient suffers from. For those who use Cialis for sexual stimulation, it must be taken thirty minutes before sexual activity. Keep in mind that this medication is not to be consumed more than once a day. It can be taken with or without food, or as recommended specifically by a doctor. Make sure your doctor is aware of all other medications that you are using. To treat the symptoms of BPH, take it once a day at the same time everyday. If the patient with ED is taking cialis once a day but not necessarily before sexual activity, they must ensure to take it at the same time everyday. Sexual activity can be attempted at any time between the two doses. To get the best benefit from this medicine, be sure to take it as prescribed by the doctor.
Side effects of Cialis 20 mg
There may be some side effects of consuming cialis which will slowly reduce over time as the body gets used to the medication. The following are some of the common symptoms of consuming Cialis:

There may be extra strain on your heart due to sexual activity, especially if you have any pre-existing heart conditions. If you have a heart related problem and also experience any of these side effects, get medical help immediately. These can result in serious problems: extreme dizziness, fainting, muscle pain, chest pain, arm pain, nausea.
Very rarely, there may be some serious side effects that would need medical attention immediately. If you notice any of the following symptoms, contact your doctor:
- Erection lasting for more than 4 hours: In case of a prolonged erection that has lasted for four hours or more, it is also necessary to notify the physician. However, this is also a rare side effect.
- Vision loss: As mentioned, it is very uncommon for vision to be affected. If the patient notices decreased vision in one or both eyes (NAION), they must stop taking the medicine and notify their doctor. Chances of developing NAION may be slightly higher if the consumer has diabetes, any heart disease, high cholesterol, any other eye problems, high blood pressure, or smoking habits. People over 50 are also susceptible to this.
